CIPLITEC
The Center for Intellectual Property Law, Information & Technology (CIPLITEC), based in Munich, is establishing a new forum for exchange between universities and practitioners in the field of intellectual property, information and technology law. CIPLITEC organizes lecture events on current topics that are of equal interest to legal practitioners* and university members, especially students, doctoral candidates and trainee lawyers. Current topics of academic and practical legal relevance are presented and discussed in a stimulating atmosphere. At the heart of the calendar of events is a lecture cycle with around three evening presentations per semester. This is supplemented by conferences and other events with our partner institutions. In addition to the professional exchange between university and practice, the aim is to promote contact between different legal generations.
CIPLITEC is led by Associate Professor Dr. Martin Stierle (University of Luxembourg) and Dr. Andreas Sattler (LMU Munich). Prof. Dr. Matthias Leistner and Prof. Dr. Ansgar Ohly (both LMU Munich) are involved in the scientific organization as well as Prof. Dr. Franz Hofmann (FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg), Prof. Dr. Herbert Zech (HU Berlin) and Dr. Patrick Zurth (LMU Munich). The scientific focus preserves the neutrality of the organization, the respective events and the selection of topics and ensures that even currently controversial topics can be discussed controversially and profitably for all sides.
